In the Higher Education Course in Animation, students acquire the ability to create, manage, and oversee audiovisual animation projects; and incorporate movement into the elements that make up a visual communication piece.

EADT students master a wide variety of cutting-edge software in the world of animation

This course trains animation professionals and enables them to develop the pre-production, production, and post-production phases of any animated audiovisual piece in any graphic, artistic, advertising, and/or fictional project. A range of possibilities that provides the student with a solid foundation to delve into the fascinating world of animation.

Those who complete the training cycle obtain a Higher Technician degree, which allows them to enter the labor market and perform tasks such as the following:

Design, organization, and management of animation projects / Creation of scenarios, backgrounds, objects, and/or characters using traditional and digital 2D and 3D techniques / Analysis of proposals and the conduct of documentary and graphic research for animation projects in different fields / Applying animation techniques to artistic, graphic, and advertising projects.

Title: Higher Technician in Plastic Arts and Design in Animation.

Level: Higher level of professional education in Plastic Arts and Design. Level 1 of the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (MECES).

Total course duration: Two thousand hours distributed over two academic years.

ECTS Credits: One hundred and twenty

Professional Artistic Family: Graphic and Audiovisual Communication.

European Reference: ISCED-5b (International Standard Classification of Education).

The general competencies describe the combination of skills, motivations, and traits required to perform effectively in a wide range of job roles within the specialty.

  • Carry out animation projects, either for personal use or commissioned by companies, institutions, or other professionals.
  • Plan the development of the animation project by defining the expressive, functional, and technical aspects.
  • Assess and facilitate teamwork.
  • Organize and execute the different phases of the project and quality controls.
  • Ensure that the project optimally conveys its communicative objectives.

Professional competencies are those linked to the job, encompassing all the skills and aptitudes that help them perform their work successfully.

  • Communicates messages efficiently using plastic and visual language.
  • Creates visual communication projects using animated images that integrate, where appropriate, persuasive, informative, and identifying elements.
  • Plans and develops animation projects suitable for previously determined narrative and technical specifications.
  • Selects and manages optimal sources and resources for executing the animation project.
  • Communicates messages through animated images for different media.
  • Establishes quality controls for each phase of the project process.
  • Defines the most suitable post-production processes within the animation project.
  • Follows the specific regulations governing audiovisual communication projects.
  • Coordinates effectively for the development of the animation project.
