In this course, students will design and carry out their own proposals or commissioned projects related to the pictorial and mural world, using different techniques and creation methods, to apply them in various environments.

EADT students are knowledgeable and skilled in various pictorial and mural techniques, becoming versatile professionals.

This course trains students to use creation, elaboration, and reproduction methods and systems for the different artistic techniques of this specialty, to carry out projects related to the pictorial and mural environment, as well as to experiment with new procedures and materials, and to assess work proposals considering the plastic, artistic, technical, and economic aspects.

This educational program adopts an interdisciplinary perspective to provide comprehensive training in various artistic techniques and disciplines, aimed at developing the essential plastic skills for any mural artistic intervention, considering the professional and artistic demands of the sector.

This course highlights the importance of mastering traditional technical procedures for artistic wall interventions, as well as a deep understanding of contemporary artistic expressions, among other relevant content.

Those who complete the course obtain a Higher Technician diploma, which allows them to enter the workforce to perform tasks related to:

  • Creation and production of pictorial and mural works on all kinds of materials and supports.
  • Creation of artistic installations, scenographies, and decoration for various representation and artistic expression spaces.
  • Production of urban space equipment and setups for exhibitions.
  • Decoration, renewal, or rehabilitation of architectural environments and heritage in the field of applied arts to the wall.
  • Dissemination and management of artistic work. Execution and direction of mural pictorial works.

General Competencies of the Higher Technician in Applied Arts to the Wall

General competencies describe the combination of skills, motivations, and traits required to effectively perform a wide range of jobs within the specialty.

  • Creates advertising, decorative, informational, ornamental, didactic, and scenographic murals for stands, display windows, decoration, and performs their maintenance.
  • Executes sgraffito finishes and decorative pavements.
  • Collaborates in the ornamentation, renovation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of architectural environments.
  • Participates in the creation of scenographic installations, props, and decoration for cinema, theater, television, and other ephemeral media, as well as for various representation and expression spaces.
  • Carries out plastic and artistic interventions on walls in architectural facilities, road and urban spaces, parks, nurseries, schools, amusement parks, hotels, setups, and installations for fairs, conferences, sociocultural activities, and public and private buildings, religious centers, department stores, etc.

  • Advises and participates in preliminary projects under their responsibility, with a view to shaping the final project and executing the real-scale final product.
  • Develops their own projects in applied arts to the wall, resolving artistic and technological issues that arise during the project: the process and realization.
  • Acts at an intermediate technical level, potentially as a direct interlocutor with other qualified professionals.
  • Assesses the knowledge of appropriate materials and processes, as well as the basis and operational scope of the tools and materials that are their direct responsibility or that of their subordinates.
  • Adequately evaluates the plastic, artistic, technical, organizational, and economic aspects of the work performed.
  • Utilizes safety and hygiene standards.
