Artistic Jewelry
In this course, students will create innovative artistic jewelry pieces using techniques and procedures specific to the craft, integrated into contemporary art and design trends.

We train professionals capable of designing and creating jewelry using the traditional techniques of the trade

This training program allows the development of both unique jewelry pieces and series production, fostering the exploration of new materials and technologies while not forgetting traditional techniques. Students will be able to express their own identity through the plastic creativity of jewelry.

The purpose of this course is to train professionals capable of designing and creating jewelry using the procedures of the trade. Those who complete the training cycle obtain a Higher Technician degree, which allows them to enter the labor market to carry out tasks related to:

Creating unique jewelry pieces / Jewelry design / Modification and restoration of jewelry pieces / Study of the prototype and reproduction system / Making jewelry models as part of the project study / Technical serialization process and study of production costs.

Title: Higher Technician in Plastic Arts and Design in Artistic Jewelry.

Level: Higher level of professional education in Plastic Arts and Design.

Level 1 of the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (MECES)

Total course duration: One thousand eight hundred and seventy-five hours distributed over two academic years.

European Reference: ISCED-5b (International Standard Classification of Education).

General competencies describe the combination of skills, motivations, and traits required to perform effectively in a wide range of job roles within the specialty.

  • Able to integrate into the productive environment as an intermediate technician, with direct communication with the chief designer or company management.
  • Performs work autonomously, using the information received appropriately and with the necessary initiative required for the task.
  • Works in a team with responsibilities for coordination and programming.

Professional competencies are those linked to the job, encompassing all the skills and aptitudes that help them perform their work successfully:

  • Develops projects for jewelry elements or pieces, whether from personal artistic creation or by interpreting external concepts, preparing both the technical information for production and promotion.
  • Adequately assesses the material, technical, economic, and organizational aspects of the tasks involved.
  • Guides the production plans for new products and forms, proposing new ideas in working methods.
  • Searches for bibliographic information and technical documentation that serve as a basis for their work.
  • Makes sketches of the project.
  • Studies the most appropriate processes and working methods for manufacturing the objects.
  • Draws plans for sets and assemblies with indications for machining and surface treatments.
  • Draws workshop (manufacturing) plans.
  • Studies the materials to be used, both raw and manufactured, based on qualities and prices.
  • Investigates the introduction of new materials in object construction.
  • Prepares budgets, evaluating manufacturing costs, labor, materials, and, finally, the profit to be obtained based on these.
  • Creates mock-ups of objects, if required.
  • Analyzes the product's feasibility in the market and the regulations that affect it.
  • Conducts market studies for launching new products, considering fashion trends and the particular characteristics of the potential consumer.
