Àlvar Calvet selected for the international residency program 'Cultures Moves Europe.'
Professor Àlvar Calvet has been selected for the upcoming edition of “LaVALLE - Permanent International Festival of Artistic Research, Public Art, and Participatory Practices,” thanks to the international residency program "Cultures Moves Europe," managed by the Goethe-Institut in collaboration with the Lo Pati Art Centre.
He is currently experiencing this 4-month residency at Aquila Reale (Centre for Art and Nature) in Civitella di Licenza, an Italian town in the province of Rome.
The LaValle project consists of a permanent international festival dedicated to artistic research in public and participatory art, coordinated by the Italian curator Constanza Meli.
Àlvar Calvet trained in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and has been a professor at EADTarragona for over 30 years. Throughout his career, he has taught various academic courses on illustration and artistic drawing, design, color theory, and computer media. Àlvar has edited numerous publications, monographs, and catalogs, and has collaborated on various research projects related to contemporary art and urban archaeology, in addition to curating solo exhibitions since 1994.
