What is Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is the European Union program dedicated to transforming education, training, youth, and sport through mobility and cooperation.

The Erasmus+ program has an estimated budget of €26.2 billion, nearly double the funding of its predecessor for the 2014-2020 period.

For the 2021-2027 period, Erasmus+ places special emphasis on:

  • Social Inclusion: Promoting the participation of people from diverse backgrounds and situations.
  • Ecological and Digital Transitions: Advancing sustainability and adaptation to new technologies.
  • Youth Participation: Encouraging young people’s involvement in democratic life.

The program supports the priorities and activities outlined in:

  • European Education Area
  • Digital Education Action Plan
  • European Skills Agenda

Additionally, Erasmus+ contributes to:

  • The European Pillar of Social Rights
  • The EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027
  • The Development of the European Dimension of Sport
