Bronze Nude. Julio Antonio: The life of a sculptor

In 1968, the Modern Art Museum of Tarragona received the legacy of much of the work of the sculptor Julio Antonio (Móra d’Ebre, 1889 – Madrid, 1919).

Although it is possible to see various facets of the work of Julio Antonio in the exhibition, in particular his contribution to renewing sculpture in Spain and his links to the literary movement of the Generation of 98, the main goal of the exhibit is to familiarise the citizens of our regions and visitors in general with the Monument als Herois de 1811 (Monument to the Heroes of 1811), and to highlight the relationship that co-existed between art and society.
