Gonzalo Lindín, Paisatge (1983)

Landscape

The world of Gonzalo Lindín (Oviedo, 1920 - Tarragona 1999) is contained within a splendid work, rich in the colours and forms that shape the unique language of the artist. Lindín’s metaphysical investigation of the landscape leads him to a quest for abstraction based on aerial views of the Tarragona region.

In this landscape, the artist does not copy the reality, but presents us with his own abstract vision of an aerial view of a landscape in which we can still recognise certain elements, such as ploughed fields, treetops or paths which make up the composition.

In this work, abstraction and imagination co-exist in perfect harmony. Lindín’s almost expressionistic use of colour concentrates all the force of the work at its centre, while it irradiates beyond the canvas as if wanting to grow, to expand, reflecting the immensity of the landscape and the impossibility of capturing all of it.
