The kouros and korés type statues are the paradigm of Greek sculpture of the archaic period. They represent young boys and girls symbolizing one of the ideals of archaic Greek culture, the areté, the moral and physical beauty of the nobility. A talk about this type of artistic manifestation will allow us to observe the survival of its influence in the history of art up to the present day. These sculptures will be contrasted with the statues of Julio Antonio and Salvador Martorell preserved in the Museum of Modern Art in Tarragona.
